Career

Ninomae debuted on September 13, 2020, as part of Myth alongside Gawr Gura, Mori Calliope, Watson Amelia and Takanashi Kiara, under hololive. She released her first original song, "Violet", on August 4, 2021. That autumn she appeared at Fan Expo Boston and Fan Expo Canada during the branch's North American tour. She also took part in Umisea, a group of Hololive members with oceanic themes, and through it she began working with the musician Camellia.

On February 18, 2023, she held her first official solo live performance and debuted her 3D model. She won the Best Art VTuber award at the 2023 VTuber Awards. She later hosted a second solo live on December 9 as a belated birthday celebration, where she premiered the song "Meconopsis". She has performed at Hololive English's concerts "Connect the World" (2023), "Breaking Dimensions" (2024) and "All For One" (2025), as well as at Hololive Festivals. On July 5, 2025, she appeared with IRyS and Koseki Bijou at a Los Angeles Dodgers game, where they sang "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch. In March 2026 she co-headlined the "Drawn to Dawn" concert with Takanashi at the Wiltern Theatre.

Activities

Streaming style

Her streams include video games, chatting with viewers, collaborations with other VTubers, karaoke and drawing. She is a professional illustrator and often draws on stream. One of her works, "Do VTubers Dream of Colorful Tomorrows?", references the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and the debate about the humanity of VTubers. In May 2024 she was added as a playable character to the fan game Idol Showdown, where she fights with a paintbrush.

Music and works

  • "Violet" (2021), first original song; she illustrated its music video
  • "Tabi no Tochū" (2021), first cover, from Spice and Wolf
  • "Drenched in Air", vocals on Camellia's album Ashed Wings
  • "Meconopsis", second original song
  • "Temari" (2024), third single

Characteristics

In her lore, Ninomae is a priestess to the ancient ones. She gained the ability to control tentacles after reading a strange book, and she began activity as a VTuber to keep humanity sane. Her design resembles a Japanese idol, with tentacle bangs, flaps like those of a dumbo octopus and a halo. She opens streams with the catchphrase "Wah!", often makes puns, and speaks English, Japanese and Korean. Her fans are called Takodachis, a blend of "tako" (octopus) and "tomodachi" (friend). In May 2021 they displayed a birthday tribute for her on a billboard in Times Square.
