Career

Otonose Kanade debuted on September 9, 2023, as a member of ReGLOSS. The other members are Todoroki Hajime, Juufuutei Raden and Ichijou Ririka, and Hiodoshi Ao was formerly a member. ReGLOSS was first part of the hololive DEV_IS branch. That branch later merged with hololive. The unit performs together as a musical group, and its first single was "Shunkan Heartbeat". She grew up in South Korea and was attending university there before she auditioned. She learned about hololive through Houshou Marine. In her audition she played the Yu-Gi-Oh! background track "Passionate Duelists" on the recorder, and she played it again during her first livestream. After her debut she took a leave of absence from university and moved to Japan.

On March 24, 2024, ReGLOSS announced a combined YouTube subscriber goal. Reaching it before September would allow the group to hold a 3D concert. As part of this effort, Otonose started a livestream on March 26, 2024, in which she sang "Shunkan Heartbeat" 100 times over 6 hours and 48 minutes. The group reached its goal in August, and the 3D concert took place on September 28, 2024. She premiered her first solo single, "Greatest", at a concert on her character's birthday, April 20, 2025, and released it the next day. Her second single, "You & Aizu", premiered and was released the same way a year later. It entered the Billboard Japan Top Download Songs chart at number 95 in April 2026. After it was included in the video game Hololive Dreams in July 2026, it reached number 93 on the same chart in August 2026.

Activities

Streaming style

Otonose holds a singing stream every week, more often than any other ReGLOSS member. She fills the gaps between songs with banter meant to provoke her audience. Kohiki-an of Dengeki Online called this contrast the main appeal of the streams, and Takakage Ishizeki of ITmedia noted that many viewers were struck by it. Her singing voice also sounds very different from her speaking voice. Besides singing, she streams free talk and games. She often takes part in comedic collaborations, including a skit with Sakura Miko and Inugami Korone. A 2026 Routledge study cited that skit as an example of the humor VTubers create by contrasting their physical and virtual bodies.

Music and works

"Namae no Nai Kaibutsu" (cover of Egoist), her first cover song, which passed one million views in under a month
"Shunkan Heartbeat" (with ReGLOSS), the unit's first single
"Greatest" (2025), her first solo single
"You & Aizu" (2026), her second solo single

Characteristics

Her character is an aspiring musician with long blonde hair that fades to orange, large round eyes, musical note hair clips and a white outfit with a music theme. Her official profile describes her as someone who works very hard at what she enjoys but frowns at anything she dislikes. On stream she plays a kusogaki (brat) who likes to prank her fellow members and her viewers. On Sundays she often reminds viewers that "tomorrow is Monday", which fills the live chat with angry red emojis. "You & Aizu" refers to this joke, and by July 2026 fans had started calling her "Monday-chan". She is fluent in Japanese and Korean and also speaks some English, which has made her popular with English-speaking viewers.
