Career

Uruha Rushia joined hololive as one of the five original members of hololive Fantasy, the agency's third generation. The other members were Usada Pekora, Houshou Marine, Shiranui Flare and Shirogane Noel. The generation debuted between July and August 2019, and Rushia was first introduced on July 18, 2019. Her generation joined hololive during a period of fast growth. Cover's first VTuber, Tokino Sora, had debuted in 2017. In 2019 the company signed a deal with the Chinese video platform Bilibili and launched its in-house music label.

In December 2019, Cover combined hololive, the male group Holostars and its music label under a single brand called Hololive Production. On January 24, 2020, Rushia took part in "hololive 1st fes. Nonstop Story" at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo. The concert featured all 22 members from before the fourth generation, together with AZKi. About 3,000 people attended in person, and many more watched online. On December 21 and 22, 2020, the same cast performed again in "hololive 2nd fes. Beyond the Stage," a two-day pay-per-view livestream.

On February 24, 2022, Cover Corporation announced that it had terminated its contract with Uruha Rushia. The company said she had violated her contract in ways that damaged its reputation. At that point she was the highest Super Chat earner both on YouTube and within Hololive Production. She was the second person to hold both titles, after fourth-generation member Kiryu Coco, who retired in 2021. Her YouTube channel's videos were later set to private, but the channel itself was not deleted.

Activities

Streaming style

Rushia streamed in Japanese and was mainly active on YouTube. She was also listed on Bilibili and TwitCasting. Like other hololive members, she used both a Live2D model and a 3D model. Her streams included live talk, games and collaborations with members of her generation. Her viewers made heavy use of YouTube's Super Chat feature, which is why she held the platform's Super Chat record when her contract ended.

Characteristics

Rushia's character was a young necromancer, in line with the fantasy theme her generation was named after. Her avatar had green and blue tones. Her fans were known as "Fandeddo," a name that plays on the undead theme of her character. Her character tags included the phrase "FLAT is justice!" She was one of the best-known members of hololive Fantasy, alongside Usada Pekora and Houshou Marine.
