Career

Yuzuki Choco's YouTube channel was created in August 2018, and her Twitter account opened the same month. She debuted on YouTube in early September 2018 as part of hololive's second generation. The other members of that generation were Murasaki Shion, Nakiri Ayame, Oozora Subaru and Minato Aqua, who has since left the agency. Sources give her debut date as either 4 or 5 September 2018. She opened her first stream with the greeting "Good evening, my cute students. Cho-kon!", which became her standard greeting. Her next video was her first song cover. Her first collaboration was a chat stream with Nakiri Ayame, and the first game she streamed was Apex Legends.

About six months after her debut, she reached 100,000 subscribers. Her 3D model was revealed shortly afterwards, on 25 May 2019. In late 2019, her main channel was demonetized by YouTube, which was largely attributed to the platform's strict stance on suggestive ASMR content. In response, she opened a second backup channel on 1 December 2019. She still uploads to it from time to time, mostly streams of Ark: Survival Evolved.

In January 2020, it was announced that she would appear as a guest character in the game Neptunia Virtual Stars, alongside other hololive members. That month she also took part in "hololive 1st fes. Nonstop Story", the agency's concert at Toyosu Pit in Tokyo. The concert featured all hololive members who had debuted before the fourth generation. She later received an updated Live2D model with more expressions, a wider range of head movement, and new physics for her hair, tail and coat. In 2023, Kotobukiya announced a scale figure of her.

Activities

Streaming style

Choco collaborates with other VTubers and streams a range of games on her own, including Dead by Daylight, Minecraft and Apex Legends. She is better known, however, for her ASMR, karaoke and cooking streams. She calls her audience "students", including in her ASMR videos. This matches her role as a school nurse who looks after the well-being of her listeners.

Characteristics

In her official backstory, Choco is a demon who works as the health doctor of the Demonic-Realm Academy. She is popular with both male and female students, especially the male students who keep coming to her for consultations. She is fond of snacks and gets angry if the snacks on her desk are moved. Her way of speaking is described as sweet and seductive, mixing a sensual tone with a motherly one, and some viewers have had mixed reactions to it. Her sense of humor can be morbid at times. Other VTubers have often called her "Sexy Dynamite Body", abbreviated SDB.
