Career
Teaser videos for the new English-language generation began on the hololive English YouTube channel in August 2021. They presented a story of gods creating concepts and the avatars that embody them, with five silhouettes shown before the names were revealed. The debut was originally scheduled for August 22 (Japan time), but the -Council- debuts were postponed by 24 hours because of technical issues, and Baelz debuted on August 23, 2021.
She debuted alongside Ceres Fauna, Ouro Kronii, Nanashi Mumei and Tsukumo Sana. On October 9, 2023, she joined the unit hololive English -Promise- with IRyS, Ceres Fauna, Ouro Kronii and Nanashi Mumei. Fan wikis also list additional costumes and models, including a 3D model and special-occasion designs, with a later costume design credited to Ninomae Ina'nis.
Activities
Streaming style
Baelz streams in English, and fan wikis note that her speech carries an Australian accent. Her on-stream persona is loud, flamboyant and theatrical, and it often switches to an exasperated, confused reaction when her fellow members behave unpredictably. Fan-maintained sources also describe her as a singer and dancer.
Characteristics
Within the lore, Baelz is a member of the Council and the embodiment of Chaos, presented as a humanoid rat. Her mouse-like appearance is part of the concept, since rats are treated in the setting as harbingers of chaos. Fan wikis compare her role to that of Watson Amelia in reverse. They say she was about as chaotic as Kureiji Ollie in her first weeks, but later became the more grounded member of her generation, whose bright on-stream manner contrasts with a more introverted personality off-stream.
