Career

FuwaMoco are twin sisters: Fuwawa is the older twin and Mococo is the younger one. They debuted on July 31, 2023, as part of Hololive English's third generation, "Advent." The other members of the generation are Shiori Novella, Koseki Bijou and Nerissa Ravencroft. In their lore, the twins are demonic guard dogs. Fuwawa is described as "fluffy" and Mococo as "fuzzy."

The duo drew more attention after they took part in a Hololive event in Grand Theft Auto V. During the event, Shirakami Fubuki chased them. On October 12, 2024, they reached a major subscriber milestone on YouTube. At the 2023 VTuber Awards, they won the "League of Their Own" category. At the 2024 edition, they won VTuber of the Year.

In February 2025, FuwaMoco held their first online 3D concert, timed to their characters' birthdays. In 2026, they held an online 3D variety show at the same time of year, with an appearance by Kuro-chan of the Yasuda Dai Circus. They have also performed at Hololive and Hololive English concerts. In July 2025, Famitsu began running a monthly video game column written by the duo. In October 2025, McDonald's Japan posted about a chicken promotion that used "bau bau" and silhouettes of the twins. Their debut album has been announced for February 2027.

Activities

Streaming style

FuwaMoco share one YouTube channel and one X account. They usually stream together, although sometimes only one of the twins appears. When they stream together, their speech and reactions often happen in sync. Their regular morning program, FuwaMoco Morning, had reached 180 episodes by March 2026. Both twins speak Japanese and know Japanese internet and otaku culture, such as Nico Nico Douga. They have a large Japanese fan base. They also hold karaoke streams.

Music and works

"Born to Be "Bau"dol" (July 2024), their first original song, written and composed by PandaBoy
"Side by Side", the ending theme of Nekopara After: La Vraie Famille, produced by Aiobahn +81 and Kris Roche
Backing vocals on Haruko Momoi's song "Nanika"
"Mekurumeku Rendezvous", the ending theme of season three of Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon
Multiple cover songs, including solo covers by Fuwawa or Mococo

Characteristics

FuwaMoco are fans of the Nekopara series and of singer-songwriter Haruko Momoi. When Momoi released her CD NewGame+ in October 2025, they held a karaoke stream with 19 of her songs. They have said that Mister Donut's Pon de Rings are their favorite food. They once posted a photo from the chain's Akihabara shop and called it their "favorite place in the world." After that, the shop became a pilgrimage site for fans, and traffic there rose. When the shop's closure was announced in October 2024, the duo held a memorial stream in the hour before it closed. Vice's Shaun Cichacki found them "just plain adorable" rather than menacing. Masashi Kigazawa of Inside Games compared them to mischievous puppies.
