Career

Mononobe Alice began her activities in March 2018 as part of Nijisanji's second generation. Her generation also included Ienaga Mugi, Kenmochi Toya, Morinaka Kazaki, Fushimi Gaku, Gilzaren III, Suzuka Utako, Fumino Tamaki, Ichigo Ushimi, and Yuuhi Riri. Her YouTube channel grew steadily over the following years and passed several milestones between 2018 and 2022.

She later debuted a 3D model in a livestream. On 23 February 2019, she held a collaboration livestream with Nitroplus's mascot character Super Sonico on the REALITY platform, which was simulcast on Super Sonico's YouTube channel. She also became a contracted streamer on the Chinese platform Bilibili and appeared in Bilibili Macro Link VR 2020. In 2023 she released a new outfit reveal video. After an ASMR stream on 19 January 2024, she went on an indefinite hiatus from streaming. She remained active on X (formerly Twitter).

Activities

Streaming style

Her streams are themed around a "tea party," a reference to the Mad Tea Party in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. She is known for morning streams and piano performances. She is one of the few Nijisanji members known for physical fitness. This reputation comes largely from her Ring Fit Adventure streams, including an eight-hour endurance broadcast in which she covered a distance of 10 kilometers. That stream has been cited in Chinese-language overviews as a notable moment of the early Japanese VTuber era.

Within Nijisanji, she has been part of several collaboration pairings and groups. These include "Alistrawberry" with Ichigo Ushimi, "Alimeijis" with Warabeda Meiji, and "ATM" with Kenmochi Toya and Morinaka Kazaki. She is also part of "Twinkle" with Tsukino Mito, Honma Himawari, Sister Claire, and Rindou Mikoto. Her fairy-tale-themed "Dowa-gumi" group, formed with Warabeda Meiji and Otogibara Era, held an offline collaboration event in 2019.

Characteristics

Alice's character is a sixteen-year-old first-year high school student with blonde hair and blue eyes. She has transferred between schools many times but is not a returnee from abroad. According to her profile, her mother is English and her father is half Japanese. She was born and raised in Japan and considers herself fully Japanese. Because she enjoys standing out, she makes use of her appearance by deliberately acting like a foreigner, which is why she often uses English phrases in her speech. Despite her childlike appearance, her character is a high school student.

Her name and character design come from Alice in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Her fan name, "Rabbit-san," refers to the White Rabbit with the pocket watch who leads Alice into Wonderland. Her designer, Moeki Yuta, created many outfits for her, ranging from frilly dresses to casual wear and pajamas. One of these is a rabbit hoodie with candy hair ornaments that she first wore during a cherry blossom viewing stream.
