Matara Kan is an independent English speaking VTuber formerly affiliated with VShojo. She debuted on Twitch on 15 October 2023. Known as "The World's Most Resilient VTuber," Matara Kan is a cockroach creature from an alien world. On 28 April, VShojo announced that they were parting ways with Matara Kan, effective 5 May 2025.

Activities and Content

She reached over 25,000 followers and over 1,000 subscriber points by the start of the debut stream, which at peak was attended by 44,578 viewers. On 20 October, Matara reached 100,000 Twitch followers. Notable achievements include releasing her first original song, "Night Cover" on 24 November, and cohosting a new podcast alongside the returning VTuber Mint Fantôme announced on 1 April.

Her debut was followed by the release of a music video on YouTube, a mashup of DECO*27's Zombies, a Vocaloid song with Japanese lyrics; and Rob Zombie's 1998 single Dragula. On 8 February, Matara debuted her second outfit, a casual outfit. On 15 October, Matara celebrated her 1st debut anniversary with a subathon and a new Kan-mander outfit.

Characteristics

Matara is known as "mom" or "auntie" by her fans due to her doting, supportive behavior. Other VTubers generally regard her as a trustworthy person who will lend an ear to their troubles. Her streams have a reputation among viewers for a comfy, healing atmosphere.

From time to time, Matara presents herself as a "boomer" who is not very well-versed with the Internet, such as claiming to still use Internet Explorer as her main browser or prefixing the names of social media websites with "the" (e.g. "the Facebooks", "the TikToks", etc.) Despite her nurturing personality, Matara also has a cunning, borderline sadistic side to her.

Physical Appearance

She possesses multiple insect-like claws and antennae. This cockroach-like VTuber boasts striking pink hair, antennae, and multiple claws, often donning a revealing pink dress adorned with a golden cockroach brooch. Background and Lore

When her homeworld was crushed in an instant by an ancient space god, she escaped on a spaceship and traveled through space for a long time, asleep in a cocoon. Her birthday of 4 February is actually the day she landed on earth. She lives in a cave that she carved out herself.
