Career

Higuchi joined Nijisanji as part of its first generation. Her cohort included Tsukino Mito, Elu, Yuki Chihiro, Shizuka Rin, Shibuya Hajime, Suzuya Aki and Moira. She made her YouTube debut on February 8, 2018, and is often described as the second Nijisanji member to begin streaming, one day after Tsukino Mito. In interviews she has said that she was playing the online game Mabinogi and making game commentary at the time. She applied to the Nijisanji audition partly to make the game better known.

She released her first original song on March 25, 2018. In May 2018 she appeared at Niconico Chokaigi, and she later took part in sponsored content and the ABEMA program "Nijisanji no Kujijuuji." On January 12, 2019, she held her first solo concert, "KANA-DERO," at Zepp Osaka Bayside. That concert fulfilled a goal she had stated in her first self-introduction video, and it is regarded as an early example of the move toward music among VTubers. A second solo live followed as a virtual reality event in June 2019. In September 2019 she appeared at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair.

At "Virtual to LIVE in Ryogoku Kokugikan 2019" in December 2019, Nijisanji announced her major debut with Lantis. Her first major single, "MARBLE," came out on March 25, 2020. Her first major album was released in November 2020.

Activities

Streaming style

Her streams are mainly on YouTube and consist largely of free talk and gaming. She streamed Mabinogi irregularly from November 2018 to August 2019. She has also uploaded many singing videos, including covers of Western music and anime songs. Within the first generation, she formed the unit JK gumi ("high school girl group") with Tsukino Mito and Shizuka Rin. Her duo with Tsukino Mito is one of the agency's best-known pairings.

Music and works

  • First solo concert "KANA-DERO" (2019)
  • "MARBLE," her first major single with Lantis (2020)
  • "3D," her fourth single, with three tie-in songs
  • "GAME GIRL," her second major album (October 9, 2024)
  • "Yummy Yummy," a duet single with fellow Nijisanji member Kanae, used as the ending theme of the TV anime "Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!" (2025)

Characteristics

Her official profile describes her as a tall, stylish second-year high school student who lives in "VR Kansai." The profile says she has loved playing the trumpet since childhood, plays in her school's brass band, and lives for fashion and her cat. She has a silver ponytail tied with a white ribbon, purple eyes and a beauty mark under her right eye. In her early streams she tried to speak standard Japanese, but she now regularly uses her native Kansai dialect. She is known for her loud laugh and for drawing illustrations in a distinctive style, some of which have been made into merchandise. She asks viewers to treat her as a classmate or friend rather than as an object of romantic interest. Her designer, Nezumidosi, also designed Tsukino Mito, Suzuya Aki, Moira and Yuuhi Riri.
