Career

Rindou Mikoto debuted on YouTube on August 31, 2018. She started out as part of the second batch of the second generation of Nijisanji SEEDs. Other members of that batch were Debidebi Debiru, Sakura Ritsuki, Machita Chima, Joe Rikiichi, Tsukimi Shizuku and Achikita Chinami. Later she became a member of the main Nijisanji roster. For her first two months she mostly did chatting streams. She then released her first song cover and moved into gaming.

She received a 2.0 update to her 2D model in April 2019 and showed her 3D model for the first time in a live stream on September 30, 2019. On February 26, 2020, she performed at Zepp Nagoya as part of the NIJISANJI JAPAN TOUR 2020 Shout in the Rainbow! concert tour. The Nagoya show was the last stop before the rest of the tour was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of 2020 she led her largest collaboration up to that point, a music festival with fourteen other VTubers. She has also hosted Nijisanji unit music festivals. In 2022 she released an original digital single titled "tokoyokitan".

Activities

Streaming style

Her content includes free talk, gaming, singing and ASMR. Her early gaming streams covered Shadow Corridor and Mario Kart. She later played Pokémon, Nevermind, Super Mario Maker and Ark: Survival Evolved, and in 2021 she began playing NieR:Automata and Genshin Impact. Viewers help plan her streams: they can pick topics and even suggest streaming times. Besides YouTube, she has channels on Bilibili, TwitCasting and Niconico.

She belongs to several units. JuvveL ("Jewel") is an idol unit with Tsukino Mito, Yuuhi Riri, Honma Himawari and Naraka, in which each member stands for a gemstone and Mikoto's is amethyst. The group began planning in 2020 and held its first stream together on July 14, 2021. It was the second Nijisanji unit after ChroNoiR to have its own YouTube channel. She is also a member of "SKB-bu" with Ange Katrina, Suzuka Utako and Gundo Mirei, a group known for talking about adult topics. In addition, she is part of the trio unit RRR (Ririri) with Takamiya Rion.

Characteristics

In her lore, Rindou Mikoto is a half-human, half-demon queen who rules a country of oni. She is several thousand years old and began streaming to learn about human culture. At her debut she said she was 9,899 years old. Her channel profile gives her height as 130 cm and her weight as 28 kg. Because she is small, people often mistake her for a child. Her design features light purplish-grey hair with a single black streak, worn in low pigtails, along with pointed ears, horns and violet-pink eyes. Her favorite drink is said to be Dr Pepper, and she likes the character 2B from the NieR franchise.
