Career

Moemi began as an original character in Anime Girl Eilene, a series made by Eilene. Eilene was one of the first virtual YouTubers and began posting animations in 2014. Moemi debuted on 20 August 2017. Her earliest known appearance was in a video posted the next day on the channel that later became the home of Mirai Akari. From mid-2017 she introduced herself as "your wife Moemi". Many of her early videos were later made private, so the exact details of her first appearances are hard to check.

From January 2018, Eilene, Moemi and a new character, Yomemi, shared one channel, the Moemi and Yomemi Channel. Yomemi debuted on 7 January 2018. In the story, she is a "virtual girlfriend" AI modelled on Moemi as she was a year earlier. Because the two looked alike, some viewers thought Yomemi was replacing Moemi. Eilene explained that she had added a second VTuber so the channel could upload more often. In September 2019 another character, Étra, joined the channel.

Moemi received a 3D model in July 2019. In 2020 she opened a separate channel for live streaming, and she has continued streaming there. On 26 March 2024 she joined the VTuber group Aogiri High School. In September 2025 she released a three-view reference sheet for a redesigned outfit. Since then she has been active as two versions of herself, Re:Moemi and the original Moemi.

Streaming style

Moemi's channel description lists chatting, gameplay commentary and singing among her activities. Her gaming videos, called Moemi's Playthrough, carry on the gameplay content she has made since her early years. She also hosts relaxed morning streams, which she labels as "morning activity" (asakatsu) broadcasts. She sometimes performs live at events. At one event she sang covers that included "Gunjou Biyori" and "Mosaic Roll".
