On 9 March 2026, hololive production announced that Niko would take a break from activities. She had already been limiting her schedule for some time, and a doctor had diagnosed her with adjustment disorder. In a video on her channel, she said she regretted not noticing that her pet cat was ill before it died the year before, because she had been so busy at the time. No return date was given when the hiatus was announced.
