Career

Kagami Hayato made his debut on X (formerly Twitter) on July 3, 2019, and held his first live stream on YouTube three days later, on July 6, 2019. He debuted together with Yorumi Rena and Hakase Fuyuki, and the three became known as the trio "SMC-gumi". Shortly after his debut he posted a short preview of his first original song, "WITHIN", and his singing drew considerable attention to the channel. In his early period he mainly played lesser-known Japanese indie games such as Detention.

In 2019 he took part in a live concert for which he prepared to perform with a live band, later explaining that he had purchased microphones, hired a sound engineer and spent around 500,000 yen on equipment; at that concert he performed the full version of "WITHIN" for the first time. On September 26, 2021, he participated in the free rock relay concert "VTuber Rock Revolution". On October 21, 2021, Nijisanji announced that Kagami would debut in the four-member male unit ROF-MAO alongside Kenmochi Toya, Kaida Haru and Fuwa Minato. The unit operates its own YouTube channel and X account and runs the regular program "ROF-MAO Juku". He later released his first mini-album, "ULTIMATE CITY", and held his solo concert "Alpha One" on January 17, 2026, where he performed several of his original songs.
