Career

Fuwa Minato's YouTube channel was created on October 16, 2019. His first post on X (then Twitter) followed on November 28, 2019, and ANYCOLOR gives that date as his debut. His first YouTube stream was on November 30, 2019, alongside Shirayuki Tomoe and Gwelu Os Gar. The three became known as the trio "Yaoukoku" (Night Kingdom). His backstory is that he works at a host club but cannot drink alcohol, so he started streaming to make friends with similar interests. He opened his debut stream by singing a cover of CLUB PRINCE's "Love Dokkyun".

He got a second outfit in November 2020 and showed an updated 2D design on December 15, 2020, a month after announcing plans for a 3D model in 2021. In January 2021 he played in the VTuber Saikyou Ketteisen Apex Legends Season 2 tournament with Kuzuha and Ex Albio, and the team placed 12th. He was also in the lineup for Nijisanji Festival 2021. In August 2021 he returned to the same tournament series for Season 3, teaming with Saegusa Akina and Naraka.

On October 21, 2021, Nijisanji announced that he would debut in the unit ROF-MAO with Kagami Hayato, Kenmochi Touya and Kaida Haru. The unit has its own YouTube channel and focuses on variety projects and music. In April 2024 ROF-MAO played a sold-out concert at Osaka-jo Hall. In 2023 he formed the band 2ji datoka with Watarai Hibari, Ibrahim and Lauren Iroas. He also took part in a limited-edition perfume release with Hoshikawa Sara and Yashiro Kizuku.

Activities

Streaming style

Most of his streams are gaming. He plays a lot of Mario Kart, Splatoon and horror games, and he is regarded as highly skilled at Splatoon. Besides his debut group-mates, he often plays Splatoon with Ex Albio, Yuzuki Roa and Shiina Yuika. He also regularly runs endurance streams and streams with self-imposed rules that end the broadcast immediately if a condition is met. In keeping with his host persona, he often streamed late at night. For a time he also ran a regular early-morning radio-style stream with fellow Nijisanji guests. His membership program mainly gives badges, since he prefers to keep his main content public.

Characteristics

Fuwa Minato is known for a soft-spoken, carefree way of talking, which contrasts with his polished host look of white hair and red eyes. He is described as hardworking and competitive. His game skill is considered high, though he sometimes makes surprising mistakes. He learned guitar because of his older brother and played in a band as a student. He first played electric guitar on stream at his third anniversary. He often talks about his love of energy drinks. His other stated favorites include banana juice, meat and the manga "Fullmetal Alchemist". He is friends with the utaite Mafumafu, who has said Fuwa inspired him to become a VTuber.
