Hoshikawa Sara created her YouTube channel on September 25, 2019. She debuted under NIJISANJI on October 19, 2019, as part of the debut trio "Orihimeboshi" with Fumi and Yamagami Karuta. In her hour-long introduction stream, she described herself as a half-English, half-Japanese schoolgirl who loves to sing. During the stream she asked viewers to call her "Princess Sara," but senior NIJISANJI members in the chat made the simpler nickname "Hoshikawa" popular instead. After her debut she held a Q&A stream and then played Super Mario Maker 2 and several other Mario games.

She released her first song cover on December 22, 2019. In March 2020 she revealed her second outfit, and in July 2020 she received an updated 2D model. On June 28, 2020, she appeared as a special act at the free online music event "ASOBINOTES ONLINE FES." with Sukoya Kana and Sister Cleaire. It was later announced that she would voice Taiga Lucia in DEN-ON-BU, a dance music project from Bandai Namco Entertainment. In December 2020 she debuted her 3D model. NIJISANJI members usually perform one song cover to mark a 3D debut, but she performed three.

In 2021 she competed in Apex Legends tournaments. In January she joined "Vtuber Most Cooperative Tournament #2" with Kaminari Qpi and Gundo Mirei as the team "Otaku Killers," which finished seventh. In August she played in the "Ape Musume Legend Derby" with Inui Shinichiro and Virtual Gorilla. On February 9, 2023, pre-orders opened for her first album, "Kimi to Shining Days," which came out on April 5, 2023. On June 10, 2023, she held her first solo live concert, "Hoshikuzu Shining Day -Kimi ga Mitsuketa Ichibanhoshi-".
