Career
Elu debuted in February 2018 as part of the first group of talents presented under the Nijisanji project. This first generation came out around the same time as the project's smartphone app, which let performers stream with a Live2D avatar. The other first-generation members included Moira. Because they were the agency's first talents, the group is often counted among the performers who helped shape the early Japanese VTuber livestreaming scene. Before them, much of the scene had centered on pre-recorded video content.
As Nijisanji grew into one of the largest VTuber agencies in Japan, Elu stayed on its roster as a senior member of the original group. Over the years she has taken part in agency-wide events and collaborations with other Nijisanji talents, as well as her own solo streams. Her place in the first generation often comes up when the agency's history and anniversaries are discussed.
Activities
Streaming style
Elu streams on her official YouTube channel, which is the main home for her work. Her broadcasts follow the usual Nijisanji livestream format, mixing chat streams where she talks with viewers and gaming streams. She also appears in collaborations with other agency members. Like other early Nijisanji talents, she started out streaming through the agency's mobile app. Later she moved to the PC-based setups that became standard across the agency as its technology and production support developed.
She also takes part in group projects run by the agency, such as anniversary programs and reunions of the first-generation members. These give fans a chance to see the original members together again.
Characteristics
Elu's character is an elf, and her name is a play on that concept. Viewers and the agency usually group her with the rest of the first generation, which is known for helping make Nijisanji's relaxed, streamer-centered approach popular. That approach lets talents shape their content largely around their own personalities, and her long time with the agency has made her a familiar figure to its longtime viewers.
