Career

Amagase Muyu began as a student in the first generation of VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA), a VTuber training program. VTA opened its official YouTube and X accounts on November 1, 2021, and revealed the names and designs of its first-generation students, including Muyu. She held her first stream on the VTA channel on November 5, 2021, and posted her first tweet on November 8, 2021. Her design at VTA differed from her later one: she had brown hair styled into cat-ear buns and twintails.

On March 16, 2022, ANYCOLOR announced that Muyu would graduate from VTA and debut directly in NIJISANJI. She would join the unit Ranunculus with Umise Yotsuha and Ponto Nei, making the three of them the first VTA graduates to become NIJISANJI talents. Muyu was fully redesigned for the move, and her VTA-era videos were made private.

Ranunculus debuted on March 20, 2022, and Muyu was the second of the three to hold her first stream. Afterward, all three members appeared on a special debut program on the official NIJISANJI channel. On March 31, 2023, NIJISANJI announced 3D debuts for the whole Ranunculus unit, and these took place in April 2023.

Activities

Streaming style

Muyu streams mainly on her YouTube channel, focusing on gaming and casual talk streams. After her NIJISANJI debut, she played titles such as Doki Doki Literature Club and Closing Shift. Sources also link her to competitive shooters such as Apex Legends and Valorant. She also has a TwitCasting account, and she often collaborates with her Ranunculus unit-mates.

Characteristics

According to her official profile, Muyu is a half-yokai who eats dreams and can turn a sleeping person's bad dreams into good ones. She usually hides this from the people around her, but she started streaming because she wanted to see many different dreams herself. Ironically, she still has trouble falling asleep.

Her NIJISANJI design has long reddish-pink twintails and eyes in blue, purple and gold. She wears large red-and-white hair bows with hearts, two straight black hairpins and a black cat-head accessory. A fang in the upper left of her mouth shows when she opens it. Her personality is described as sensitive and thoughtful, sweet and playful with her viewers, but shy about showing real affection. She is the youngest member of Ranunculus, and her unit-mates often treat her like a little sister. This may be why she likes to present herself as older and more mature, sometimes calling herself a "sexy onee-san." Her fans are called Famuyu, and her fan emoji is a thought bubble.
