Shibuya Hal created his YouTube channel on April 17, 2018 and debuted on May 6, 2018 as an independent VTuber. His character is a "virtual convenience store clerk." In his early period he mainly streamed PUBG. Later in 2018 he organized a PUBG tournament for VTubers, and its main event was held on July 21, 2018. The event drew participants from both agencies and independent creators and became the start of his long-running tournament series. Another edition took place on June 2, 2019 together with the Nagoya VTuber Festival.

On May 31, 2019, he announced that he had joined upd8, a VTuber support project. He stayed with it until the project shut down on December 31, 2020. He created a Twitch channel on October 14, 2019. From December 27, 2019 to July 5, 2020 he competed as a pro gamer in the Apex Legends division of Handmade Potion. During that time he earned a spot at an Apex Legends world championship event. In 2020 he also founded Knot Not Rank (KNR), a group of VTubers and game streamers.

After upd8 closed, he worked independently again until October 2021. On October 23, 2021, during his own stream, he announced a new VTuber agency called "merise." He founded it with Shirayuki Reid and received support from CR Ojiji of the esports team Crazy Raccoon and from the utaite singers Mafumafu and Soraru. Within the agency he oversees the talents' general streaming activities. On February 27, 2022, merise was renamed Neo-Porte, and Shibuya Hal held his debut stream as a Generation 0 member on March 28, 2022. On April 26, 2022, the North American esports organization TSM confirmed that it had signed him as a streamer and gave him an updated model in a TSM jersey. Red Bull has also described him as the first VTuber Red Bull player. Neo-Porte became part of Brave Group in 2025.
