Career
Sakamata Chloe streamed for the first time on 29 November 2021 as a member of HoloX. In the group's fictional lore she serves as its "fixer and cleaner," and her character design is based on the orca. She reached one million YouTube subscribers on 18 February 2023 and marked the milestone with an event at Aqua Park Shinagawa.
In August 2022 she joined Umisea, hololive's ocean-themed music group. She was also part of the agency's Magical Girl HoloWitches project. A fictional version of her appears in the manga holoX MEETing!, and the first volume of the series centers on her.
During a singing livestream on 13 July 2022, a mysterious female voice was heard twice. She took a short break afterward, and her members-only stream on 14 July 2022 was cancelled. She later stayed at a different home after noticing strange sounds and other apparent paranormal activity at both her family home and her new home. In January 2024 she paused streaming again after testing positive for COVID-19.
On 30 November 2024, Cover announced that her hololive activities would end on 26 January 2025 and that she would stay with the agency as an affiliate. A graduation ends all of a talent's future work with the agency. Affiliate status still allows some limited future activities, which Cover compared to "a graduate coincidentally showing up at their alma mater." She gave health problems caused by overwork and plans to work outside hololive as her reasons. Her farewell concert was viewed more than 2.4 million times. When she became an affiliate she left all the hololive projects she had been part of, including HoloWitches. Her members-only content was removed on 30 April 2025.
Activities
Streaming style
Her YouTube streams included Let's Plays, and she was especially skilled at shooting games such as Rust. She once finished Green Hell in three days, playing for almost eleven hours in a single day. In one stream she and Amane Kanata searched for an elytra, a rare item in Minecraft. One recurring series was "Osusume Sakamata" (Recommended Sakamata), in which she recommended games that are hard to stream. She also often crowdsourced ideas from viewers, such as the tree decorations for her Christmas Day 2022 stream. For April Fool's Day 2022 she staged a mock radio show called Matamata Radio and billed its first episode as the "800th."
She appeared in an Amane Kanata video in which she interviewed Kanata while Kanata was being voiced by Sakura Miko. MoguraVR featured the video in its Kono Dōga ga Sugoi! series during the week of 2 June 2023 and said it showed the humor of all three performers.
