Career

Oura Rukako's YouTube channel was created on 25 January 2021, and her X (formerly Twitter) account opened the same month. On 26 January 2021, AniMare's official account announced her as a new member together with Konan Mia and Tirol Tsukinoki. Tirol had been an independent VTuber before she joined the group. Rukako held her debut stream on 7 February 2021. Later that year, 774 inc. released a key visual of her with her two debut-mates.

She took part in AniMare's merchandise lines. One example is an original plush keychain of her character, released on 19 June 2021 as part of an AniMare goods series. Official LINE stickers featuring her were also released.

On 21 March 2023, 774 inc. merged its groups AniMare, Honey Strap, Sugar Lyric and Hiyoku no Crosspiece, along with its solo talents, into one brand under shared management. The aim was to make it easier for talents to work under a single name. After the merger, Rukako was active as a talent of 774 inc. itself, and her channel name changed to show the agency instead of AniMare.

On 31 March 2024, she held a chat stream with Shimamura Charlotte and another participant. The same day, she posted on X to thank her viewers for three years of support, which marked the end of her activities. Her YouTube channel description says her talent activities are suspended indefinitely and describes her as a member of 774 inc.'s operations staff. Her X profile later described her in the past tense as a spy VTuber of 774 inc. and as a former member of its operations staff.

Activities

Streaming style

Rukako mainly streamed games. Titles she played included Knockout City, Fall Guys, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft, Umamusume: Pretty Derby, Mahjong Soul, Monster Hunter Rise, Phasmophobia, Among Us and Hatoful Boyfriend. She also hosted chat streams, often with other VTubers as guests. On 5 August she started Coffee Talk, a talk series in which she discussed a range of topics. She also ran weekly reading segments and made ASMR content.

She often collaborated with her debut-mates. For example, she appeared in a Gartic Phone stream hosted by Konan Mia, which also featured several independent VTubers.

Characteristics

In her official setting, Rukako is an owl girl in charge of accounting at the cafe AniMare, but she is secretly an agent of an unknown organization. This spy concept also shows in the name of her fan base. She is portrayed as mature but somewhat clumsy. Her broad knowledge and active imagination often lead her conversations off-topic. She usually speaks politely but talks more casually with Konan Mia and Tirol. Her design has shoulder-length black hair with white streaks and a dark blue underside, blue eyes and glasses. She wears an office-style uniform with black gloves.
