Career

NIJISANJI announced Oliver Evans on July 19, 2021. He was revealed together with Axia Krone, Lauren Iroas, Leos Vincent, and Lain Paterson. All five held their debut streams on July 22, 2021, and the group became known as Eden-gumi. His debut video went on to become one of the most-watched videos on his channel.

After his debut he streamed regularly on YouTube and also used TwitCasting. Because he speaks English, he took part in collaborations and social media exchanges with members of NIJISANJI's English branch. After the debut of Luca Kaneshiro, he joked that he was the first human in NIJISANJI EN before "remembering" that he was not actually a member of the branch. The branch's official channel later played along with this unofficial status in one of its video descriptions. He later competed in a Street Fighter 6 tournament series for VTubers. Before the main event, he spent several days in team scrimmages that he broadcast on his channel.

Activities

Streaming style

His streams mix gaming, free talk, and reading. Early on he played multiplayer and horror titles such as Gang Beasts, Among Us, Biohazard (Resident Evil), and Minecraft. He also holds reading and chatting streams, which suit his academic persona. Later, fighting games became a larger part of his schedule, including long Street Fighter 6 practice streams before tournaments. Collaborations with his Eden-gumi groupmates and other NIJISANJI talents are a regular part of his activities.

Characteristics

In his character profile, Oliver Evans is a kind young man who became a professor despite his age. His good looks are said to draw an especially large number of female students to his classes, and his students call him "Professor." His fans are therefore called "Evans-zemisei" (seminar students of the Evans seminar). His model has short, light brown hair with long bangs that partly cover his light green eyes. At 190 cm, he is one of the taller characters on the agency's roster. He speaks both Japanese and English, though he has said he had not used his English much in over a decade before his debut. He has talked about his fondness for the manga One Piece and his interest in internet meme culture.
