Career

Momosuzu Nene joined hololive's 5th Generation with Yukihana Lamy, Shishiro Botan, Omaru Polka and Mano Aloe. Mano Aloe later retired. Hololive first showed her in a video introducing all 5th Generation members on August 6, 2020. Before her debut, she misspelled the hashtag for new VTubers in one of her posts as "#新人Vtuべｒ". The misspelled tag became the top trending topic in Japan on August 7, 2020, and debuting VTubers have used it ever since. She then debuted on YouTube on August 13, 2020, the second in her generation after Yukihana Lamy. She was openly nervous during her first stream. Fan sources say she failed the hololive audition four times before she was accepted.

Around the start of 2021, the other 5th Generation members received New Year's outfits and 3D models. Momosuzu Nene instead received a redesigned main outfit on January 31, 2021. She revealed her own 3D model on April 18, 2021.

Activities

Streaming style

According to her official profile, she is a girl who came from another world to become an idol and loves singing, dancing and drawing. Many of her streams work toward that idol goal, especially karaoke and chat streams. She often streams around lunchtime (12:00 JST), when she chats with viewers while eating or drawing. She once held a drawing stream with fellow hololive member Houshou Marine and her designer, Nishizawa 5mm.

The first game she streamed was Fall Guys. She has also played titles such as Pokémon, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Gartic Phone, IDOLY PRIDE and Knockout City. Fan sources describe her as clumsy at games but often lucky, such as showing good aim in Apex Legends as a beginner and winning her first Among Us games. In Minecraft, she built a huge flat rhinoceros beetle on the group server.

Characteristics

She is the 5th Generation member associated with the color orange. She says her dream is to become an idol and to have one of her songs used as an anime opening. She has also said she wants to someday build a hololive theme park made up only of thrill rides. Her favorite anime include Gin Tama, Bleach, The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls and Baka and Test.

Her voice has changed noticeably over time; in early streams it was lower and somewhat boyish. In mid-2021 viewers began comparing her to a baby seal because of the sound she makes when she squeals, and she embraced the comparison. Other trivia from fan sources: she is ambidextrous (born left-handed, she learned to write with her right hand in calligraphy class), she likes insects and keeps beetles as pets, and she has a driver's license but does not drive.
