Career

Maimoto Keisuke's YouTube channel was created on August 6, 2018. He posted his first tweet on August 9 and uploaded his first video on August 11, 2018. He started out in the first batch of NIJISANJI SEEDs' second generation. That batch also included Kanda Shoichi, Asuka Hina, Harusaki Air, Amemori Sayo, Takamiya Rion and Naruto Kogane. His channel passed 10,000 subscribers on November 13, 2018.

On December 13, 2018, Ichikara Inc. announced that NIJISANJI Gamers and NIJISANJI SEEDs would be merged into NIJISANJI by the end of the month. From then on, Maimoto was simply a NIJISANJI liver. At the end of his 3D debut stream, he announced "NIJISANJI Koshien" for the following month. This officially licensed event used the baseball game Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2020. Teams trained over three in-game years in the "Eikan Nine" mode competed against each other. Maimoto took part as manager of the previous year's winning school. NIJISANJI Koshien became a recurring event. In the 2022 edition he played for a team made up almost entirely of female NIJISANJI members.

On August 5, 2023, he said he would not take part in NIJIFes 2023 and promised to explain the reason later. In August 2023 he appeared on the NIJISANJI talk show "Nijiban" for the first time and joined that summer's Koshien event. He then announced an indefinite hiatus for health reasons, starting September 1, 2023. He described it as a hiatus, not a graduation. He said that for about three years he had experienced symptoms such as heart palpitations during streams. His doctor had advised him to stop working. His official X account has since promoted new broadcasts, including a Powerful Pro Baseball 2026 stream.

Activities

Streaming style

Maimoto mainly streams games, sports and late-night radio-style talk. His channel description calls him an "Ojisanji" (a pun on "uncle" and NIJISANJI) who focuses on sports commentary. In a format typical of early SEEDs members, he watches a wide range of sports broadcasts together with his viewers, mostly professional wrestling and baseball, and commentates on them live. He also often streams baseball games such as the Powerful Pro Baseball series, as well as titles like Apex Legends.

Characteristics

His official profile describes him as a single 40-year-old farmer with premature grey hair. He loves watching sports more than anything else. Neighborhood children tease him as a white-haired old man, and he wishes they would stop. However, he is too worried about what his neighbors think to speak up. His character has short grey hair, light grey eyes and brown-framed glasses. He usually wears Japanese-style clothing: a blue kimono top, an obi and blue trousers. He shares his character designer with Yashiro Kizuku.

Commentators often point out that his refreshing voice does not match his look. A running joke since his early streams is that he suffers constant misfortune involving women, including frequent teasing by female colleagues. Even so, he is well liked by female VTubers both inside and outside NIJISANJI. He values his connections with the wider VTuber community rather than only his own agency. He is friends with talents from other companies, most notably Oozora Subaru of hololive. Takamiya Rion is a fellow SEEDs member from his debut batch and a frequent comedy partner.
