Career

Kuzuha first appeared as an independent VTuber on YouTube on 8 March 2018. Ichikara Inc. (now ANYCOLOR Inc.) then scouted him, and he officially joined Nijisanji on 30 July 2018 as part of the third batch of Nijisanji Gamers, which also included Makaino Ririmu, Shiina Yuika and Setsuna. He was the first VTuber the company recruited through scouting. The Gamers branch was dissolved in December 2018, and its former members are now called "EX-Gamers."

He became the first male Nijisanji talent to pass one million YouTube subscribers. In October 2022, he and fellow VTuber Shibuya Hal appeared on the cover of a special edition of issue 2318 of the magazine Anan. This was the first time a VTuber had been featured on the magazine's cover. He has also served as an ambassador for a joint promotional campaign with NTT docomo. In June 2025, he passed two million subscribers, the first Nijisanji talent and the first Japanese male VTuber to do so. He was later announced as the voice of Marvin in the Japanese dub of the film Street Fighter, which will be his debut as a voice actor.

Activities

Streaming style

Kuzuha mainly streams video games, often for very long sessions. He usually goes live between 9 and 11 p.m. JST and streams for about six to ten hours almost every day. He is noted for his gaming skill and his distinctive word choices in live commentary and conversation. He also plays horror games, including Resident Evil Village. With fellow Nijisanji member Kanae, he forms the duo ChroNoiR. Kanae approached him because there were few male VTuber units at the time. Viewers suggested the unit's name, which combines the Japanese and French words for "black," the favorite color of both members. The duo opened its official YouTube channel on 31 December 2019 and started the weekly program "Chronoir Does Something" (Kuronowaru ga Nanka Yaru) in 2022. ChroNoiR was signed to Nijisanji Records until 2024 and then moved to AccelNotes.

Music and works

  • "Contrail" (digital single, 28 September 2021): his first original song, for which he helped write the lyrics. It reached first place on Billboard Japan's download songs chart.
  • Sweet Bite (mini album, 9 March 2022): his major-label debut release with Virgin Music. He announced it at his first solo event, held on his birthday, 10 November 2021.
  • "Black Crack" (single, 2023): the title track was used as the opening theme of the anime Good Night World.
  • "Gimmie More" (digital single, 2025): written and composed by Nqrse. He announced it at a solo live-stream concert on 11 June 2025 that marked his two-million-subscriber milestone.
  • Cover of "King" by Kanaria: his most popular cover, with more than 53 million views as of June 2025.

Characteristics

Kuzuha's character is a vampire over 100 years old who does not drink blood. His real name in the story is Alexander Lagusa. He is portrayed as a NEET gamer who started streaming to make easy money, and as a carefree character with a strong love of money. He has silver-white hair, red eyes, sharp fangs and pointed ears with several piercings. He can turn into a girl named Sanya, but he says this uses a lot of his magic power, so she rarely appears. He speaks confidently on stream, but people who have worked with him describe him as shy around new people and quieter off stream.
