Career

Kurusu Natsume created her YouTube channel on December 5, 2019. She opened her X (formerly Twitter) account the same month and posted for the first time on December 26, 2019. She held her first stream on December 29, 2019, around the same time as Mashiro Meme and Naraka, who debuted with her. Her first streams after the debut were mostly chatting streams. In them, she said she was a university student, that she could play the guitar, and that the NIJISANJI music event "Nijisanji Rock" had inspired her to become a VTuber.

She released her first music video on April 15, 2020. She first streamed from her parents' home and later moved out on her own. In 2021 she added new kinds of content, including games such as VA-11 HALL-A and Gartic Phone, and began making ASMR videos.

She also became a published novelist. Her first light novel series, A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans (Jingai Kyoshitsu no Ningen-girai Kyoshi), is published by Kadokawa, and Yen Press publishes the English edition. The series was nominated for the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guide's rankings and was adapted into a manga. On September 7, 2025, Kadokawa announced a television anime adaptation set to premiere in January 2026. Its cast includes Toshiki Masuda as the teacher Rei Hitoma, Sora Amamiya as the mermaid Kyoka Minazuki and Saori Onishi as the werewolf Isaki Ogami.

Activities

Streaming style

Her early game streams included Baba Is You, Getting Over It and Night in the Woods. She is known for being good at puzzle games and did well in the Tsuyotsuyo format of competitive puzzle play. Her most-watched videos have been Minecraft and Magic: The Gathering streams. She draws, too, and holds regular drawing streams, though these get fewer views than her gaming content. She also does chatting streams, music content and ASMR.

She plays the guitar. She is part of the group "NIJISANJI Blue Eyes" with fellow members Levi Elipha, Sorahoshi Kirame and Asahina Akane. Her character has blue eyes and reddish-brown hair.
