Career

Kuroi Shiba's YouTube channel first appeared on September 19, 2018, and she debuted on September 25, 2018, as part of the third batch of the second generation of Nijisanji SEEDs. Her batch-mates were Naruse Naru, Belmond Banderas, Yaguruma Rine and Yumeoi Kakeru. The SEEDs branding was later merged into the main Nijisanji roster, and she has been listed as a regular Nijisanji member ever since.

Her original character profile described a shiba inu who could speak the language of humans and lived in a dog kennel in a corner of a large park. That profile stayed in use until April 20, 2020. Later descriptions explain that she can talk because the spirit of her owner from a previous life lives inside her. She now lives in the kennel with various animals and her owner's spirit. As one of Nijisanji's longer-serving members, she has kept streaming regularly and took part in agency events such as Nijisanji Fes 2025, which she talked about in a chat stream in February 2025.

Activities

Streaming style

Her channel is built around free-talk chat streams, which she usually titles with the date. She also plays games and sings. On the gaming side she has played both solo and multiplayer titles. In 2025 these included ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN and Party Animals, which she streamed with a regular group under a shared collaboration hashtag, and LIAR'S BAR, which she played with other Nijisanji members. She has also played AI-driven interrogation games, and the agency publishes official clip videos of her streams.

She often appears in collaborations. One well-known group is the informal unit "Nazo itsumen" (roughly "the mysterious usual members"), made up of Kuroi Shiba, Yashiro Kizuku, Ange Katrina and Suo Sango. The four first came together for a sponsored stream. They kept collaborating afterwards and adopted the name to describe how unlikely the combination was.

Music and works

Characteristics

Kuroi Shiba plays a dog, and her lore ties her speech to her owner's spirit: whenever that spirit separates from her consciousness, she can no longer speak human language. Within the story she owns a male Pomeranian named Shirai Pome. As an April Fools' Day joke on April 1, 2019, Shirai Pome held his own first YouTube livestream. Besides streaming, she is known as a skilled illustrator and singer. She is also an open fan of yuri (girls' love) works and sometimes recommends titles to her viewers during streams. Her official theme color is listed as #585C82.
