Komori Met

Komori Met (Japanese: 小森めと) is a female Japanese VTuber affiliated with VSPO!, a VTuber agency focused on gaming and eSports. She debuted in May 2020 as a member of VApArt, a group under 774 inc., and moved to VSPO! in February 2023. She is known for her gaming streams, mainly competitive shooters such as APEX Legends and PUBG, and for her song covers.

Career

Komori Met created her YouTube channel and her X (formerly Twitter) account on 22 May 2020. She held her first stream on 30 May 2020 as a member of VApArt, a branch of the agency 774 inc. Her 3D model debuted on 28 November 2020.

Over the next two years she released several song covers. VApArt disbanded on 7 January 2023, and she then worked directly under 774 inc.'s management. On 14 January 2023 she released "NEET Eat Meat", her first solo original song.

On 26 January 2023 she announced that she would leave 774 inc. on 31 January and join VSPO! the following day. According to the announcements, 774 inc. had contacted VSPO! about a possible transfer. Komori Met had asked her agency for permission to audition for VSPO!, and the management chose to support her. After the audition, both companies agreed to make the transfer official. Her YouTube channel memberships were briefly paused while the channel was moved over. Even before the transfer, she had often collaborated with VSPO! members and hosted many of the company's events. At VSPO! she became the seventh solo member, after Kaminari Qpi, Yakumo Beni, Aizawa Ema, Shinomiya Runa, Nekota Tsuna and Shiranami Ramune.

Streaming style

Komori Met streams on YouTube and Twitch. Her content is mostly gaming, with some music. Since joining VSPO! she has regularly streamed competitive shooters such as APEX Legends and PUBG, often in collaboration with other VSPO! members and in practice sessions for in-house gaming events. She also runs a recurring casual talk stream on Sunday mornings, titled "Nichiasa" in reference to Japanese Sunday-morning television. She streams often, and she has held outfit reveal streams for new costumes.

Characteristics

In her character backstory, Komori Met is a metallic life form who lived comfortably in space until she was suddenly sent to Earth. While wandering the unfamiliar planet, she met a girl in front of a convenience store, copied her appearance, and followed her to an apartment building called VApArt. This is where the name of her original group comes from. Other descriptions of her lore call her an alien space security officer who rarely leaves her room, which ties into the "komori" in her name (as in "hikikomori"). Her design includes a jacket with baggy long sleeves in red, brown and orange that leaves her midriff and lower back exposed.
