Career

Inugami Korone debuted on April 13, 2019, as part of Hololive Gamers, a group she shares with Shirakami Fubuki, Ookami Mio and Nekomata Okayu. In October 2020 her YouTube channel reached one million subscribers. She was the first member of Hololive Japan to do so, the second member of hololive overall after Hololive English's Gawr Gura, and the fourth VTuber to reach that mark. She was later the fourth member of Hololive Japan to reach two million subscribers, on June 28, 2023.

In April 2020 she streamed the 1993 game Doom and its 2016 reboot. Her playthrough of the reboot became popular, and Kotaku linked this to the contrast between the game's extreme violence and her cute, cackling avatar. She and her fans called the playthroughs "Doog", combining the game's title with her dog character, and the name became part of her YouTube branding. In October 2020 the sequel Doom Eternal added an easter egg referring to her: pressing the chainsaw button several times changed the game's logo to "Doog Eternal". The easter egg was later removed, and the patch notes said it "will live in infamy."

On August 25, 2020, during a live playthrough of Banjo-Kazooie, she said "Eekum Bokum" while imitating the voice of the game's Mumbo Token. The clip became an internet meme outside Japan, and Grant Kirkhope, the game's composer, praised the stream and shared it on Twitter. Also in 2020, she streamed Super Mario Bros. for her non-Japanese viewers and challenged herself to speak only English during those streams.

Her work outside streaming includes several partnerships. She is an ambassador for Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise: she voiced a role in the Japanese dub of the film Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic Frontiers received downloadable content themed after her, and her song "Hongami Precious Moment" appears in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. She also voiced a role in an episode of the anime Yo-kai Watch. She is the ambassador for Honda Racing eMS, an esports competition played in Gran Turismo 7. In 2025 she interviewed director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland about the film 28 Years Later.

Activities

Streaming style

Like the other members of Hololive Gamers, she streams mainly video games on YouTube, mostly in Japanese. Many hololive members focus on new releases and multiplayer titles. Inugami often plays retro games, along with horror and indie games. She is known for very long "endurance" streams that sometimes last more than 24 hours. She often collaborates with Nekomata Okayu, a friend from before either of them joined hololive. She also does 24-hour collaboration streams with Sakura Miko of hololive's 0th generation.

Music and works

  • Original songs as part of her idol activities; Real Sound described her first original song as distinctly her own and praised her dancing
  • "Hongami Precious Moment", featured in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
  • Voice role in the Japanese dub of Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Voice role in an episode of Yo-kai Watch

Characteristics

In her lore, Inugami is a dog from a city bakery who plays games when she is not working as a watchdog. Her catchphrase "yubi! yubi!" (finger! finger!) jokingly refers to yubitsume, the practice of cutting off a finger, and asks fans to hand over their fingers. Stuart Gipp of Retronauts wrote that the contrast between her cute look and the violent games she plays was not original, but that her humor and timing made it charming. He called the macabre catchphrase bizarre next to her moe image. He also called her English-only Super Mario Bros. streams an "utter delight." Jin Sugiyama of Real Sound highlighted how she makes classic games enjoyable to watch.
