Career

Hyakumantenbara Salome debuted as a Nijisanji liver in May 2022. Unlike many members of the agency, she debuted alone instead of as part of a debut group. Her first streams included gameplay of horror titles. Clips of her reactions, her formal way of speaking and her distinctive laugh spread widely on social media during her first weeks of activity.

Her channel grew very quickly after her debut. Japanese and international VTuber news outlets and online communities covered this growth as one of the fastest rises recorded for a virtual streamer. Because of this, she was discussed as one of the notable breakout VTubers of 2022 and became one of the more widely recognized members of Nijisanji's Japanese branch.

After her initial breakout, she kept streaming regularly on her YouTube channel. She mainly played video games solo and also took part in agency events and collaborations with other Nijisanji livers.

Activities

Streaming style

Her streams center on video games and are mostly long solo playthroughs. Horror and action games make up a large share of her content, and her playthroughs of the Resident Evil (Biohazard) series are especially well known. She stays in character as an aspiring lady during gameplay and pairs exaggerated politeness with candid, sometimes startled reactions. This contrast is often cited as a main reason her clips spread so widely. She also streams chatting segments, in which she talks with viewers in the same refined manner of speech.

Characteristics

Her character concept is a young woman who wants to become a proper noble lady (ojousama). She speaks in a deliberately formal, lady-like Japanese register and ends her sentences with the elegant "desu wa" style typical of fictional upper-class characters. Her high-pitched laugh is a recognizable trait and often appears in fan-made clips. Commentators have noted that the gap between her refined persona and her earnest, unguarded reactions during play is central to her appeal.
