Hayama Marin (Japanese: 葉山舞鈴) is a female Japanese VTuber affiliated with NIJISANJI. She is known for her free talk, gaming and singing streams, and for her duo with fellow member Nui Sociere, with whom she debuted.

Career

Hayama Marin's YouTube channel was created in May 2019, and she made her debut as a NIJISANJI liver in June 2019. She debuted alongside Nui Sociere, and the two formed the duo known as Chichiyama. Her official character profile describes her as a girl who lives in a town with a beautiful ocean and who started streaming to make her town more famous.

Her channel grew steadily after debut. She reached her first milestones within months, in June and August 2019, and passed further milestones in April 2020 and July 2022. In July 2020 she released her first original song, "Ocean Meets Girl!!", which carries on the seaside theme of her character. Over her career she has received several official outfits, including her original hoodie default, a serafuku (sailor uniform) outfit, and a newer default costume that debuted around her third anniversary. Her models include both 2D and 3D versions.

Besides her work within NIJISANJI, she has also appeared in collaborative events with other VTubers, including a VTuber Fall Guys sports festival hosted by Ponpoko.

Streaming style

Her streams are mainly in Japanese and focus on free talk, games and singing. She plays a wide range of titles and often streams new releases, such as the early access launch of Subnautica 2 and the roguelite shooter SAROS. Her channel also runs as "Ohayama Ch.", and she regularly uploads short dance videos that follow popular trends. Besides YouTube, she keeps channels on Twitch and OpenREC.

Inside NIJISANJI she has joined several collaboration groups. Besides Chichiyama with Nui Sociere, she is part of "SilverDevilS" with Ars Almal, Debidebi Debiru and Maimoto Keisuke, and "Berry Destroyer" with Sasaki Saku, Yashiro Kizuku and Mashiro. She is also known for her friendship with Yuzuki Roa.

Characteristics

Hayama Marin's character design has short light silvery hair with an ahoge, pink-red eyes, braided sections on the sides of her hair, and a citrus-themed hairpin. She has tanned skin, and a single fang shows when she smiles. Her signature greeting is a pun on her family name, "Ohayama Hayama". Her fan mark (oshi mark) is a leaf and a mountain (🍃🗻), and her fans are called "Chouchoumin" (超町民), a name that ties in with her character's hometown.
