Career
Cover Corporation founded Holostars as a new all-male VTuber agency. Its first generation began debuting in June 2019, and more members followed in September and October of that year. Hanasaki Miyabi debuted on June 8, 2019, as part of that first generation. His generation includes Kanade Izuru, Arurandeisu and Rikka. The first generation originally had five members, but two of them later retired.
On December 2, 2019, Cover combined its Hololive, INNK Music and Holostars agencies under one brand called Hololive Production. The three groups kept their own management teams. Since then, Hanasaki Miyabi has been active as part of the Holostars branch within this structure. A second Holostars generation debuted in December 2019, followed by a third in May 2020. Some sources describe his time with Holostars as having had difficult periods, and say he received support from his managers and fellow members.
Activities
Streaming style
In his first streams, Hanasaki Miyabi hosted several chatting sessions before he moved on to gaming. The first game he streamed was Apex Legends, which he played with his generation-mate Kanade Izuru. The second was the asymmetric horror game Dead by Daylight. Horror and competitive games became a recognizable part of his streams. He gets scared easily, and viewers have described his screams as helpless or desperate. Even so, he gained a reputation for staying calm and not getting upset in high-pressure situations.
Alongside gaming, he often streams conversations with his chat. In these streams he regularly thanks his viewers and has heart-to-heart talks with his audience.
Characteristics
Hanasaki Miyabi is described as cheerful and calm. He rarely shows negative emotions on stream, which gives his broadcasts a soothing atmosphere. He is also described as soft-hearted and emotional. His character is portrayed as physically weak and sensitive to the outdoors, but committed to playing games and connecting with his fans. The contrast between his gentle personality and his strong reactions in frightening games is often named as one of the things his audience finds endearing.
