Career

GreatMoonAroma debuted as a virtual streamer on September 30, 2018. He first became known in the VRChat community as a meme content creator. He was often grouped with other VRChat "memers" such as Lolathon, and some viewers called him the "Korean Lolathon" because their content was similar. His X account opened as the account of a VRChat streamer, and at first he described it as something he had started for fun.

On December 21, 2022, he announced on YouTube that he was stepping back from his meme content. He said it had become too much to keep up with and that the audience reactions no longer felt genuine to him. After that he focused on working as a full-time VTuber.

He then moved into talent management by founding the VTuber agency Blue Jump. On April 17, 2023, he announced auditions for a 3D VTuber named Lilian, later spelled Lillian. On October 13, Blue Jump announced that she would debut as the agency's founding English-language member. His official X profile now describes him as both a VTuber streamer and the CEO of the agency, which presents itself as focused on developing unique and diverse VTuber talent. In December 2024, Blue Jump celebrated the debut of his updated "GreatMoonAroma 3.0" model with a limited-edition signed illustration poster.

Activities

Streaming style

GreatMoonAroma streams on Twitch and YouTube, and he uses a separate YouTube channel for Korean-language content. His streams mainly consist of free talk and gaming, and VRChat remains central to his identity. His best-known running gag is "gnoming" people, where he summons a garden gnome character to prank other VRChat users. He streams mostly in English, but he also speaks Korean and often brings Korean culture into conversation with his international viewers.

Characteristics

His avatar has short blue hair with an ahoge (a single upright strand of hair), light blue eyes and sharp teeth, and he wears a blue hoodie with a crescent moon drawn on it. The crescent moon is also his oshi mark (fan emoji). In his earlier VRChat days he was linked to a blue-haired schoolgirl catgirl avatar. That avatar was used by other creators too, but he became one of the best-known users of it, largely because of his gnoming videos. His Christmas-season birthday, December 23, puts him under the zodiac sign Capricorn.
