Career

On January 4, 2023, the hololive production English account on X announced that Gavis Bettel would join TEMPUS. He posted his first message on the platform the same day. He debuted on January 7, 2023, as part of the second wave of HOLOSTARS English -TEMPUS-, together with Machina X Flayon, Banzoin Hakka and Josuiji Shinri. This was hololive production's first new branch debut of 2023, and it brought the English HOLOSTARS group to eight members.

His debut week had several technical problems. His connection cut in and out during the group's first collaboration stream. Internet and new-PC issues forced him to cancel his first two solo streams, which were meant to feature the game Cooking Simulator. One of the retries ended about two minutes after it started. During this time he talked with viewers in Twitter (now X) Spaces instead. Around the same time, he had accidentally picked a fan-art tag already used by a smaller independent VTuber named Jester, and drawings of him flooded her tag. He changed his art tag and cleared up the confusion.

In 2024 he was nominated in the Mister Vtuber category at The Vtuber Awards 2024. In 2026 he won the Sexy Jester/Clown category of a fan-run Tumblr poll. He beat Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus and April from Monster Prom on the way to the final. As of his group's later history, TEMPUS includes Regis Altare, Axel Syrios, Machina X Flayon, Banzoin Hakka, Josuiji Shinri and Gavis Bettel, while former members Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper have retired.

Activities

Streaming style

His content is mainly gaming and free talk, streamed on YouTube with an additional Twitch channel. His solo games have included Getting Over It, Superliminal, Rat Simulator, The Sims 4, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Phasmophobia. In his first handcam stream he made candy. With his TEMPUS groupmates and other HOLOSTARS English members he has played Ultimate Chicken Horse, Golf With Your Friends and League of Legends. His character likes things neat and tidy, and he prefers to plan his streams in advance. Viewers often compare him to the streamer Jerma985 because of similar antics and a similar voice.

Characteristics

His official profile describes him as the jester of the Adventurer's Guild TEMPUS. He performs in the combat arena and hopes to take his act worldwide someday. According to his lore, he learned traditional performing arts while visiting a land called Xenokuni. His character is a flamboyant entertainer who wants to make everyone laugh and prove his talent. However, he is also unlucky and often rushes toward his own downfall while trying to impress his audience, and his viewers laugh along at his misfortune. His design has white-grey hair with pink and aqua gradients, and his eyes are different colors: the right is pink and the left is blue. He can take off his jester hat. His viewers have been known to tease him in chat from his very first stream, a running joke within his community.
