Career

Belmond Banderas debuted on YouTube on September 19, 2018. He was part of the third batch of the second generation of NIJISANJI SEEDs, alongside Naruse Naru, Yaguruma Rine, Yumeoi Kakeru, and Kuroi Shiba. In December 2018, the SEEDs branch was dissolved and its members joined the main NIJISANJI group. After the merger, he formed several collaboration groups with other members for gaming and variety streams.

Activities

Streaming style

His content is mainly free talk and gaming. He often plays popular games and regularly takes part in large NIJISANJI tournaments. He streams almost every day and announces long series ahead of time. In keeping with his role as a bartender who appears in dreams, he usually streams from around midnight Japan Standard Time until the early morning. Many viewers use his streams to fall asleep because of his voice and the jazz music he plays. He has said he is glad to help them in this way.

He became well known for a Minecraft run in which he found an unusually large number of diamonds. This earned him the nickname "Diamond R Banderas" (Diamond Redstone Banderas). His Minecraft project "Belmond Industry" became a running joke because of the rough, mafia-like side of his personality that it showed. When Yuzuki Roa visited it, she asked whether he was really Belmond. He replied that he was Belmond's older brother, and overseas fans began calling this persona "Anideras".

Characteristics

According to his official backstory, Belmond has existed since living things first began to dream. He is the barkeeper of "Bar Deras", a bar that anyone can visit while dreaming, and he invites guests of various races on a whim. Because he has no family register, he worries that he cannot prove his identity in the real world. His bar has an owner that looks like a dark grey Russian Blue cat, although Belmond insists that it is not a cat.

He is described as mature, calm, and well-mannered, though sometimes short-tempered. He was concerned that his low voice might intimidate listeners, so he raised his pitch to sound less threatening. His popularity grew after his welcome greetings to Sasaki Saku, which she included in a parody song. He is also known for an incident in which he paid for a yakiniku meal for Yuzuki Roa, Ushimi Ichigo, and Onomachi Haruka while they were away from the table. When Roa later mentioned this on stream, he said the money was not really his but came from viewers of hard-working streamers.
