Career

Uto created her YouTube channel in April 2020 and her Twitter account in September 2020. Before her official debut she streamed with a static image and uploaded several song covers. She debuted with a Live2D model on December 14, 2020. As an independent VTuber, her channel grew quickly, and she gained a large audience in Japan and overseas within about a year. She later held a 3D debut stream.

On April 6, 2023, she announced that she would stop streaming and posting on social media as of April 30, 2023. She gave no reason. She said she would make her archives private to avoid speculation and misunderstanding, and she asked viewers not to clip or repost her content. Some outlets reported the announcement as a retirement.

About eight months later, in December 2023, she returned to streaming and announced on December 10 that she had joined VOICE-ORE, an agency for VTubers and voice talent. During her comeback stream she said she had considered quitting VTubing for personal reasons and because she wanted to become a voice actress. She said she had received offers from several companies and chose VOICE-ORE because it helps its talents get voice-acting roles. She also said her content would stay the same under the agency. VOICE-ORE closed on June 30, 2024, and Uto went back to being independent.

In 2025 she also streamed on Twitch under the name Kirafuwa as a casual streaming persona. In April 2026 she joined the streamer division of the esports organization DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) as its first female member. She has hosted watch-party streams supporting DFM's VALORANT team.
