Career
Baacharu opened his YouTube channel on July 20, 2017. His first video, introduced as the birth of the "world's first?! male virtual YouTuber," set out the claim he has used ever since. His channel description invites viewers to watch him take on various challenges in virtual space. He started out in the early days of the VTuber scene and is regarded as one of its oldest active figures.
Within .LIVE, he became widely known as the long-running partner of Siro (Dennou Shoujo Siro). In 2018 he became the producer of Idol-bu, the agency's internal idol unit. He also hosted many events, and his ability to keep a programme moving earned him recognition as a master of ceremonies.
In August 2026, around the August 9 date treated as his birthday, he announced his retirement. A stream at 15:00 on August 9 explained the timing and other details, and his activities were scheduled to end before the end of the year. He later appeared in conversation videos on the channel of independent VTuber Rei Yuhari and talked about why he chose to stop in his tenth year. He described entering the VTuber industry as arriving in a completely unknown country. He also said that as the agency grew, it "suddenly turned into a city."
Activities
Streaming style
Baacharu has worked on YouTube and Niconico, and he also has a bilibili channel. His content covers variety videos, collaborations and game streams. In recent videos he has played the game Faaast Penguin and tried Apex Legends for the first time. To prepare for an invitational tournament, he also trained in Street Fighter 6 under a more experienced player, using the Modern control type with the character E. Honda. His video titles often end with his stretched-out catchphrase sound, written as "fuuu," followed by a horse emoji.
Besides his own channel, he has served as a supporting figure and host for other .LIVE talents. As producer of Idol-bu, he appeared in the unit's projects, including quiz-style videos such as academic test segments.
Characteristics
His design pairs a tall, muscular adult male body in a blue suit with a horse-head mask. This look and the horse imagery behind his nicknames, such as "Uma" (horse) and "Basashi" (horse sashimi), are his trademarks. His name is a pun on the Japanese word for "virtual" combined with the horse theme. "Ubiba," another nickname, comes from a signature noise he makes. His fast-talking, comedic delivery and his frequent pairing with Siro made him one of the best-known male characters of the early VTuber period.
